Ein Kommentar zur Farbe

> Curtain Designs for Haus Schminke.
The house was built by architect Hans Scharoun and the original curtains were crafted by Otti Berger, a notable Bauhaus weaver. Today the original curtains are lost.

In 2014 we were asked to contribute to the research about the lost curtains to design curtain drafts, initiated by the Stiftung Haus Schminke and Leinenmanufaktur von Kleist.

Our project „Ein Kommentar zur Farbe“ seeks to revive Otti Berger’s designs by integrating the information we found in our own drafts.

Part of the project involved research, archival exploration, text analysis and interviews to collect information about the former curtains.

The resulting designs are inspired by Otti Berger's curtains as well as referencing the architecture of the house and can therefore be seen as a quotation.
